Specimen Submission
All investigators are required to consult with the Histology Core staff prior to commencement of specimen collection to determine the most appropriate method of tissue fixation, processing, staining and analysis. Schedule a consultation time by emailing Heather Drummond.
Service request
For submission of tissue or request for service, log into iLab and submit a Request Service form which is located under the Request Service tab. Please fill out all parts of the Request Service form. A new Request Service form should be completed for different sample sets.
Submission protocol
Make sure that all the specimens submitted are clearly labeled and that labels correspond to the information provided in your Request Service form. The lab is located in G274 on the 2nd Floor of the Guyton Research Building.
Embedding instructions
Provide any special embedding instructions (e.g. cut side down, sagittal, etc.) on the Request Service form. If no special instructions are provided, tissue will be embedded as deemed appropriate by the Histology Core staff.
